May 23, 2008
SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
DEN HARTOG PROPERTY
6686 KILE ROAD
LODI, CALIFORNIA
OUR PROJECT NUMBER: LGS080514
1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
Our office was contracted by Pieter Den Hartog of DHV, LLC to conduct a Soil Suitability Study
for the property at 6686 Kile Road in Lodi, California.
The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section
9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work
included conducting percolation tests that meet the required absorption rates as required by
San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (EHD).
In addition to conducting the percolation tests, a review of published soil information, geologic
maps, and groundwater information was performed to evaluate the suitability of soils for use
with a septic system.
The formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the greatest degree possible, the
EHD'5 Soil Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated July 14, 2003.
1.1 Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the site is 011-120-02. The property is approximately
166.58 acres in size (see Plate 1). The county application number is PA-08-028. The site is
currently used as vineyard.
The elevation of the site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic map, is
between approximately 5 and 15 feet above mean sea level. The land grades down gently to
the west.
According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department
(http://www.co.san-joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned AG-40, general agriculture
with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to preserve
agricultural lands for the continuation of commercial agricultural enterprises."
'044r
902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240•209.367.3701 •Fax 209.369.4228 ©1008 Neil O.Anderson&Associates.Inc
