San Joaquin County Community Environmental Setting,Impacts,and Mitigation Measures _ <br /> Development Department Public Services and Utilities <br /> wastes,such as drywall and concrete,as well as various other non-hazardous <br /> wastes. A current listing of resources is available at the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Works Solid Waste Division in Stockton(www.co.san-joaquin.ca.us/solidwaste/). _ <br /> Solid waste services in San Joaquin County are provided by the Foothill Sanitary <br /> Landfill,the North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill,the Lovelace _ <br /> Materials Recovery Facility and Transfer Station,and the San Joaquin County <br /> Household Hazardous Waste Consolidation Facility. <br /> Fire and Police Protection <br /> Within San Joaquin County, all 34 fire departments and districts take part in a <br /> General Mutual Aid Contract for non-fee-based aid as needed. This contract <br /> mandates that participating departments provide services to each other as needed <br /> without cost or fee. <br /> The Tracy Fire Department serves the city limits of the City of Tracy,as well as <br /> more than 200 square miles of unincorporated territory in southern San Joaquin _ <br /> County. The department employs 63 line personnel and has a reserve force of 30 <br /> firefighters. The department operates seven station houses, the closest of which <br /> to the project site is less than 5 miles away(City of Tracy 2005). <br /> The San Joaquin County Sheriff s Department provides law enforcement to the <br /> unincorporated land in the county. There are 129 uniformed deputies providing <br /> sheriff's patrol and special services in unincorporated San Joaquin County. The <br /> deputies are divided into eight patrol teams on two-day-off sequences(four teams <br /> on duty each day). The county is divided into eight geographical areas,or beats, _ <br /> staffed around the clock. Of those eight beats,four are directly linked to the City <br /> of Stockton since they cover unincorporated islands within the city limits and the <br /> unincorporated area just outside the city limits. The sheriff s department _ <br /> headquarters is located in French Camp,approximately 5 miles south of Stockton <br /> (San Joaquin County 2002). <br /> Schools, Libraries, and Parks <br /> New Jerusalem Elementary School <br /> The project site is located within the New Jerusalem Elementary School District. <br /> The nearest school,New Jerusalem Elementary,is located approximately 3 miles <br /> off the project site.
