ramp and the loop off ramp to eastbound SR-132. As shown in Table 31, all weave sections are
` projected to operate at Levels of Service "C" or better during both the AM and PM peak hour periods
with the exception of LOS"D"projected during the PM peak hour at Location 2.
TABLE 31
I-5/SR-132 INTERCHANGE WEAVING SECTIONS ANALYSIS
YEAR 2027 BASE CONDITIONS LEVELS OF SERVICE LOS
AM Peak Hour PM Peak Hour
Number of Basic a Number of Basic Number of Lanes
g Lanes(` ) ( ) ( )m
Weaving NB in Number or Lanes(IV) LOS Lanes NB in N Weaving LOS
Segment Weavingin Weaving Section Section Weaving Section Section
Location 1 3 4 B 3 4 A
` Location 2 3 4 A 3 4 D
Location 3 3 4 A 3 4 C
Location 4 3 4 A 3 4 C
Leisch Method(HDM,Figure 504.7A)
` Ramp Junction (Merge/Diverge) Operations: Table 32 presents the projected Bird Road on ramp
merge with westbound SR-132 and eastbound SR-132 off ramp diverge to Bird Road for all three design
alternatives. Under all three design alternatives, SR-132 was considered to be a four-lane freeway at the
merge and diverge. As shown in Table 32, the on ramp merge from Bird Road to westbound SR-132 is
projected to operate at LOS "F"during the AM peak design hour for all three design alternatives. As also
shown in the table, the off ramp diverge from eastbound SR-132 to Bird Road is projected to operate at
LOS"F"during the PM peak design hour for all three design alternatives.
r
TABLE 32
SR-132/BIRD ROAD INTERCHANGE RAMP JUNCTION OPERATIONS
YEAR 2027 BASE CONDITIONS LEVELS OF SERVICE(LOS)WITH 4-LANE FREEWAY
(ALTERNATIVES 1 THROUGH 3)
SR 132/ Alternative 1 Alternative 2 Alternative 3
Bird AM Peak Hour PM Peak Hour AM Peak Hour PM Peak Hour AM Peak our PM Peak Hour
Road Density Density Density Density Density Density
Ramps j e/mi/lo LOS (PC/mi/In) LOS (PC/mi/In) LOS ( chniAn) LOS chni/1n LOS ( c/mi/In) LOS
WB on
from 34.9 F 4.8 A 34.8 F 4.8 A 34.8 F
Bird Rd
EB off to 71 A 40.9 F 7.0 A 40.8 F 7.0 A 40.8 F
Bird Rd
r
Roadway Segment Operations: With the Bird Road interchange project, SR-132 is proposed to be a
four-lane freeway through the Bird Road interchange and immediately to the east and west of the
interchange for all three design alternatives. Table 33 presents the projected peak hour levels of service on
these SR-132 study segments. As shown in the table, the westbound SR-132 segments to the east, to the
west, and within the Bird Road interchange are projected to operate at LOS "E/F" during the AM peak
r, hour. As also shown in the table, the eastbound SR-132 segments both to the east, to the west and within
the Bird Road interchange are projected to operate at LOS "E" during the PM peak hour. Table 33 also
shows that LOS "E" is projected on westbound SR-132 during the AM peak hour, and LOS "E" is
_ projected on eastbound SR-132 from the I-5/SR-132 interchange east to the end of the four-lane freeway
segment while the two-lane highway segment on SR-132 further east of the I-5/SR-132 interchange is
projected to operate at LOS "F" during both peak hours. Finally, all three non state highway facilities
including Bird Road,Koster Road and Blewett Road are projected to operate at LOS "C"or better during
both peak hour periods.
2nd Draft DeSilva Gates Quarry Trafc&Circulation Analysis 37 October 2005
Jones&Stokes (R90577S002/25-4000-02)
in.
