Cemex Vernalis Quarry Mining and Redamation Project
6.4 Significant Irreversible Environmental Changes
That Would Result from the Proposed Project
Should It Be Implemented
Minor revisions to Section 6.4.2 have been made. It is noted that the commitment of agrgregate
resources is consistent with the project objectives, the County general plan, and the state mineral
resource zone(MRZ) designation for the site. The conversion of farmland was analyzed in the —
DEIR and found to be less than significant(see Impact 4.3.1). Section 6.4.2 is revised to be
consistent with Impact Statement 4.3.1.
6.4.2 Significant Irreversible Environmental Changes
The primary irreversible changes that would occur as a result of the project include:
• Implementation of the project would require the irreversible commitment of natural _
resources, the mining and processing of aggregates that would decrease the
availability of aggregate resources in the future. This commitment is consistent with
the County general plan, and the state designation for the project site (MRZ-2 and
MRZ-3)
AFIFd £ 1 d k4HtHWWid@ :«.,,,.tet..,,,,., land to .,on a ...,Itural . .. ..:t6:., the r`etmty _
Centex Vemalis gantry Mining and Reclamation Project 4-62 ESA 1203015
Final EnNmnmenlal Impact Report June 2008
