It is Kleinfelder's
current understanding that this report is required by the San Joaquin County Community
Development Department in association with the Vernalis Quarry land use permit.
FIELD ACTIVITIES
r On December 16, 2011, depth to groundwater was measured in three water supply
wells (DW-1 , DW-2, and DOM-1). DW-1 is located near the western boundary of the
site, DW-2 is located near the northwest corner of the site, and DOM-1 is located in the
southwest corner of the site in close proximity to the California Aqueduct. A fourth well
(AG-2, located approximately 200 feet northeast of DW-2) was not assessed at this time
because DW-2 was surveyed for this general area. DW-3 (shown east of the site) was
also not included in this survey. The approximate well locations are depicted on the
attached Plate 1.
Well pumps were turned off prior to sampling; therefore, it appeared that the depth to
groundwater (DTW) measurements represented static groundwater levels in each of the
three wells sounded. The depth to water ranged from 158 to 215 feet below the well
access points. Groundwater samples were subsequently collected from DW-1 , DW-2,
and DOM-1. The samples were collected from the available discharge points nearest to
the well head where the wells were installed and prior to any surface treatment
equipment.
Prior to the collection of samples, DW-1 and DW-2 were purged for approximately 10
minutes and DOM-1 for 20 minutes. During the purging of the wells, the water was
` 29131.E01/ST012R014 Page 1 of 4 January 17, 2012
Copyright 2012 Kleinfelder
2001 Arch-Airport Road, Suite 100, Stockton, CA 95206 p 1209.948.1345 f 1209.234.4700
