Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas.
Radon results from the natural decay of uranium, The primary route of exposure to radon is via
inhalation. The United States Environmental Protection:Agency.(EPA) recommends that individuals
avoid long-term exposures to radon concentrations above 4.0 Pico curies per liter(pCi/L). According
to the Department of Health Services' Radon Database for California (October 2002), no-households` -
were studied within 95690 ZIP Code area. However, the EPA has designated-San Joaquin County as
Zone 3. Zone 3 refers to areas where the predicted average indoor radon potential.is less than 2.0
pCi/L.
Asbestos
The surveying and sampling of potential asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are outside the scope
of this study. The last ban on the manufacture of friable ACM was in 1978; the presence of ACM is
generally considered a significant concern in buildings constructed before 1980. The majority of the
existing on-site structures were constructed prior to 1975. An asbestos survey of the buildings may be a
required prior to demolition or any significant renovation activities.
4r .-. .
Lead-Based Paint
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers lead-based paints to be a source of lead
exposure to children. Lead-based paint normally becomes a public health issue when painted surfaces
(especially in older residential structures) become significantly damaged or deteriorated. The surveying =
and sampling of potential lead-based paint has been outside the scope of this study.
Utilities T u
Natural Gas/Electricity
Natural gas and electricity is supplied to the site vicinity by Pacific Gas and Electric(PG&E).
Sewage Disposal -
There is currently no municipal sewage service connected to the subject site.
