SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION
The soil is classified at the time of drilling the holes. No pit was dug. A gravel layer exists in this
area and is visable in the stream bed_The gravel layer exists at various depths, depending on
the ground elevation.Hardpan exists on all five parcels at various depths. Layers of sand on each
parcel vary in thickness from 2'to 4'.
PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
Summary-Satisfactory Percolation Tests
Parcel No. Hole Depth(RP) Size Rate(Min/In) Required Leach Field(S.F.)
1 6.92' 4" 4.46 6,000
2 12.37' 4" 5.43 6,000
3. 5.2' 6" 11.9 8,000
4. 3.8' 6" 31.3 10,000
5. 15.86' 4" 14.7' 8,000
The TPM, included, contains a vicinity map and each percolation test hole is plotted and
referenced to tot lines. The drilling procedure_is to drill a 25'hole for a profile and determine if
any water is present. Because of the gravel deposited in the area the drill went to refusal when
contact was made with the larger rocks and the deepest hole drilled was approximately 15'. The
sand strata was located on each lot by drilling until visual inspection of the material removed
indicated a percable strata. All holes were sleeved with PVC pipe after placing 2" of small gravel
in the bottom of the hole and then with the PVC in place additional gravel was placed around the
sleeve.(See Hole Preparation Sheet/Smith&Assoc.)
On August 4,2006, Parcel 4 and Parcel 5 were tested after the 24 hour pre-soak period. Deep
holes received 6"of water and shallow holes 12" of water to begin the pre soak period. After the
pre-soak period at 0800, 8/4/06 the 4 hour test began.
On August 30, 2006, Parcel 1 and Parcel 2 were tested after the 24 hour pre-soak period.
On Septenber 5, 2006, Parcel 3 was tested after the 24 hour presoak period. All holes were dry
after the 24 hour pre-soak period. The test conformed to SJC Policy EHD 02-02. Readings were
recorded on the field forms. The EHD inspector, Lisa Medina, was present for the required
readings and signed the forms.
The locations tested and the field observations made indicate suitable soil to support a SFR when
the sewer system is installed by permit and inspection from the Environmental Health Department
of San Joaquin County.
2.
