Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
Subject: Application for Child Care Services at 1104 Lincoln Rd., Stockton
As residents in the neighborhood (1103 Stanton Way), surrounding the
above mentioned address; we would like to go on record as opposing the
planned project at 1104 Lincoln Rd.
A thirty child care service at this address would bring about complications
detrimental to this area.
We currently have an elementary school at the corner of Lincoln Rd. and
Gettysburg. The traffic at 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. when children are
dropped off and picked up at the school causes immense congestion. A
child care service of the proposed size would add too much to the congestion
already at hand. Residents traveling to and from work at 8:00 A.M. and 5:00
P.M. respectively, will have more traffic congestion to deal with, cars
coming & going in and out of traffic with a greater risk of a child being
injured if they should happen to run out in front of traffic.
People live in this community because it is a quiet residential area. The
by-laws of our Homeowners Association do not allow businesses to be run
out of private homes. This is a prime residential area and adding a business
amongst these homes we feel would only de-value our neighborhood and
investment.
Many of our neighbors hold employment positions that require working
various shifts which include night time hours. Being able to rest and sleep
during the daylight hours is the only time available. A child care service
would cause a disturbance to these neighbors, and my self included.
