2. Automobile traffic is our main concern. At the present time Lincoln Road is a very
busy street during the daylight hours. At certain times during the day the traffic is horrendous.
Both morning and afternoon we are impacted by traffic from Lincoln Elementary School,
Lincoln High School, and Lincoln Senior Elementary School. At times cars have backed up past
our house waiting at the stop sign at Gettysburg. In addition, Lincoln Road is used as a route for
funeral processions. It is also a route that fire engines often take. We have an extremely difficult
time backing out of our driveway because of the existing traffic. With the addition of 30 cars
morning and afternoon starting, stopping, and moving about in our immediate area, backing out
would be both more difficult and more dangerous. We can foresee that cars from this project
would be parked across the street and also on our side of the street. This would limit backing
visibility on our side and backout room on the other side, Also, anyone parked on our side to
load or unload children would have to jaywalk across this busy street carrying small children.
This would be very dangerous.
3. Property values would be negatively affected by this proposed project. Why would
you allow this to happen?
We intend to attend the public hearing on this project to voice our opposition.
If necessary we intend to join with other neighbors to hire a lawyer to attempt to
overtturn any decision by your office that would adversely affect our position.
Sincerely:
Robert and Dorothy Henning
