Y a ' V
Thomas T. Morris
1119 Stanton Way
Stockton, CA 95207
,A#e
San Joaquin County April 22, 2006
Community Development Department
1810 East Hazelton Street
Stockton, CA 95205
ATTENTION: Mo Hatef
OPPOSITION TO USE PERMIT APPLICATION NUMBER PA-0600193
This letter has been written to inform you of my opposition to Use Permit
Application Number PA-0600193 (UP), a use permit application for child care
services for 30 children that includes a request to reduce the number of parking
spaces. This is for the property located at 1104 W. Lincoln Road.
I oppose this application for the following reasons. Child care services for thirty
children at the proposed site would be a determent to the tranquility of the
surrounding residential neighborhood on all sides, day care for thirty children is
not compatible with the size of the residential home, parking problems with the
related pick-ups and drop offs will cause an adverse impact on Lincoln Road as
well as the sidewalks near the front of the location, and this type of business use
in a low density residential neighborhood reduces the property values for the
surrounding homeowners. This type of use should be in a semi-commercial
area, not in this residential neighborhood. It simply should not be allowed.
Child care services for thirty children at the proposed site would be a determent
to the tranquility of the surrounding residential neighborhood on all sides. This
business use would negatively impact the enjoyment and quality of life,
particularly for the surrounding residences. There are some working
homeowners who must work at night and sleep during the day. The noise and
activity created by the applicant's use would not only disturb the adjacent
residents, but also the tranquility of the homeowners in the backyards of the
surrounding area.
Day care for thirty children is not compatible with the size of the applicant's
residential home. To have adequate restroom facilities and other necessary
furnishings would require the residence to be turned into a commercial type of
facility. It simply is absurd to allow that much, and that type, of activity at the
applicant's residential location.
