According to Mr. Dotinga he has farmed the property since 1989. Prior to
1989 the property was a beef cattle ranch. According to Mr. Dotinga a dairy was
` associated with the barn and residential area in thel940's. The present dairy uses the
same corrals and buildings as the beef cattle ranch. The dairy contains over three-
thousand cows. Adjacent to the milk barn are AST's. The large tank is a water tank and
the AST's in cradles are diesel fuel tanks. An AST containing a disinfectant for the cows
udders is located to the west, adjacent to the milk barn. Ocated in the southern portion
of the dairy area are two AST's. Two AST's are located in the southern portion of the
dairy area. According to Mr. Dotinga the tanks are a former molasses tank and a way
tank (a corn liquid product). According to the Mr. Dotinga the discolored water located
adjacent to the barn area in the center of the site is from the cattle feed.
The ponds located onsite are approximately 30 feet deep. The southern pond was
placed in 1989 and the northern two ponds are approximately 2 to 3 years old. The
water in the ponds is used onsite. Water from the ponds is used to flush the lanes in the
dairy area. The water from the ponds is also used to fertilize and water the fields. The
r fields according to Mr. Dotinga are sprayed with the pond water between crops in the
spring and the fall. Manure is also used on the fields as fertilizer. During the summer
river water is mixed with the pond water and is used to water the fields.
L U:\Rbrosius\TELEPHONE CONVERSATION RECORD.Wbk 1
Copyright 2000 Kleinfelder,Inc.
L
