KLEINFELDER
• Recommended site preparation and grading
• Summary of geologic hazards
• Nitrate loading calculations
IV. SITE CONDITIONS
At the time of our field explorations, the majority of the relatively-flat site consisted of rice field
stubble. The site was surrounded by additional farmland to the east and west, Lone Tree Road to
the north, and Bruerer Lane to the south . An existing residence and landscaping are located near
the center of the site off Lone Tree Road. We understand that a well is located in the back corner
of the property, however, the power has been disconnected. The locations of underground
imgation lines or utilities and/or any other buried objects at the site are not known to our firm at .
this time.
V. FIELD EXPLORATIONS
The field explorations for this investigation were performed on January 14, 1999, and consisted
of drilling six test borings and performing percolation tests in these borings. The borings
extended to depths of approximately 10 to 15 feet, and the percolation tests were performed at
depths of approximately 9%2 to 15 feet below existing ground surface. The borings were located
by pacing in the field and were drilled with truck-mounted drill equipment using 4-inch diameter,
continuous-flight augers. Continuous logs of the soils encountered in the borings were
maintained, and relatively undisturbed soil samples were obtained for visual observation,
classification, and laboratory testing. The soils were collected by driving an approximate 2-inch
inside-diameter sampler into the soils using a 140-pound hammer falling approximately 30
inches. The number of blows required to advance the sampler into the soils is noted on the Logs
of Borings, Appendix, Plates A-4 through A-9 at the corresponding sample locations.
VI. SOIL CONDITIONS
The surface soils encountered in the borings consisted of dark gray-brown sandy to clayey silts
that extended to depths varying from approximately 1/2 to 1 foot below existing ground surface.
Beneath the dark gray-brown silt soils. red to gray brown sandy to silty clays and sandy to clayey
silts were generally encountered and extended to depths varying from approximately 2 to 5 feet.
Beneath the red to gray-brown clay and silt soils generally light brown to brown layers of sands,
clays, and silts were encountered and extended to the maximum depths explored.
20-4280-0I.GOI/2019R150 Page 2 of 12
Copyright 1999 Kleinfelder, Inc.
