This disposal system is designed in conformance with the recommendations
contained in "Nitrate Loading Study, Soil Suitability Study, Eagal Lake Recreation
Complex", prepared by Don Chesney, R.E.A., of Valley Ag Research. The
design is based upon the anticipated usage of 50 members and guests, each
requiring a capacity o 15 gallons per day. The facility is planned to operate
seven months each year, from April through October.
---- All materials and workmanship shall conform to the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department Bulletin "Onsite Wastewater Disposal
Standards" revised October,2003.
This set of plans is for Phase One of a two-phase project, but the disposal
system is designed to be adequate for both phases. Plumbing fixtures for Phase
One are as shown on these plans, and the second phase will add only a bar sink
and a kitchen sink. No complete meals will be prepared in the kitchen. The
kitchen sink will be used for preparation of snacks and for washing dishes and
cleaning up after an occasional catered meal. A garbage disposal unit shall not
be installed.
SEPTIC TANK
1. The septic tank shall have a capacity of not less than 2000 gallons.
2. The tank may be constructed on-site, to the specifications contained in the
above referenced "Onsite Wastewater Disposal Standards", or it may be pre-
fabricated, or two pre-fabricated tanks may be coupled together in series to
achieve the required capacity. Plans for any proposed pre-fabricated tanks are
to be submitted to San Joaquin County for approval. Plans shall address venting
of inlet and outlet pipes, manhole locations, liquid depths, and all structural
details.
3. Any fiberglass septic tank shall be set on a compacted sand bed and the
surrounding excavation backfilled with clean sand, well compacted, to within 18
inches of the top of the tank. The remaining backfill shall be sand, free of rocks.
4. The tank shall be installed high enough on the embankment so that the
effluent will flow by gravity into the distribution box. No pumping shall be
.A required.
0 5. The tank shall be watertight to prevent entrance of rainwater or surface
Q drainage.
'6 6. The invert of the inlet pipe shall be at least 2 inches above the invert of the
4 outlet pipe.
Doo DISTRIBUTION BOX
I. The distribution box shall have a minimum inside dimension of 12 inches, and
be at least 12 inches deep with a solid impervious bottom.
2. The invert of all outlets shall be level. The inlet invert shall be at least 2"
above the outlet inverts.
3. A five foot ABS Schedule 40 or equivalent tight line with a continuous soil
barrier shall be installed between the septic tank, the distribution box, and the
leach lines.
LEACH LINES
1. Leach lines shall be installed as detailed in the trench cross section.
2. Soil over the leach lines shall not be compacted.
3. Exit lines between the distribution box and the leach lines shall be 4" ABS
Schedule 40 or equivalent, and joints shall be glued or sealed.
4. The maximum grade of leach lines shall not exceed Yin 100 feet.
