SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc (Live Oak) was contracted by Dan Co�statoconduct a <br /> Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the for the t-to-the Taste food <br /> processing facility located at 17239 Louise Avenue, Escalon, California (Plate 1). <br /> E <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br /> cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br /> been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br /> Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> j According to a San Joaquin County Community Development Department staff report, <br /> the project is described as a Use Permit application for a vegetable processing facility <br /> that will be constructed in two phases over a five-year period. Phase One, to be <br /> completed in eighteen months, includes the construction of a 1,800 square foot <br /> .processing building and conversion of an existing 720 square foot building into an office. <br /> Phase Two, to be completed in five years, includes the construction of an additional <br /> 1,800 square foot processing building. The business is expected to operate Monday <br /> through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 203-210-16. The parcel size is <br /> 40.36 acres with the building lot area 8.31 acres. The County Site Approval Application <br /> Number is PA-1000031. The Site is currently agricultural land with an existing office <br /> building, shop and storage buildings, four two-bedroom labor buildings, and a vegetable <br /> packing building (Plate 2). One water well serves the Site. A recent aerial photograph <br /> of the property is included as Plate 3. <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 67 feet above mean sea level.
