According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department <br /> (www.co.san joaquin.ca.us), the Site is zoned AG-40, agriculture with a minimum parcel <br /> size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands <br /> for the continuation of commercial agriculture enterprises." <br /> Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage <br /> Existing Septic System <br /> (Fivp septic systems currently exist on the Site, one for the office building and four which <br /> kse�ve each of the four labor houses. One system, discussed below, utilizes leach lines <br /> and seepage pits; details of the other systems are unknown. <br /> Proposed Septic System <br /> According to the site plan, re agricultural building will utilize a new septic system to <br /> serve a small restroom. <br /> On-Site eptic Permit History <br /> During a re Ord review, one septic system installation permit was found for the Site at <br /> the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated August <br /> 2003, was for a new system with leach lines and pits to serve a mobile home; the <br /> address listed was 17241 East Louise Avenue. No septic repair permits were identified. <br /> One permit related to the domestic water well was identified for the Site. All permits for <br /> the property are attached in Appendix 4. <br /> Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity <br /> To determine the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic <br /> systems that exist approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Recent air <br /> photo imagery from GoogleEarthTm was used. Each building cluster on the photo was <br /> assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, we determined that there is a <br /> minimum of 15 septic systems per square mile in the immediate vicinity of the Site. <br /> The general area consists of orchards, agricultural land, and rural residential properties. <br /> Septic Permit History in the y cincin <br /> Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the area <br /> utilize leach lines or leach lines and sumps.
