Limit noise-generating construction activities to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 <br /> p.m., Monday through Friday. <br /> Locate foxed or portable noise sources, such as air compressors and concrete <br /> pumpers, as far as possible from the property line. <br /> Equip all internal combustion engine-driven equipment with mufflers that are in <br /> good condition. <br /> G. BIOTICS <br /> (1) POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT: PRESENCE OF SQUIRRELS, RATS, AND <br /> FLIES <br /> Due to the nature of solid waste handling activities, squirrels, rats, and flies are <br /> attracted to the existing facility. This activity is currently conducted in an open <br /> area without benefit of a controlled environment. The proposed expansion <br /> project will bring the solid waste handling operation into an enclosed building for <br /> which vector controls can be established. <br /> Findings: <br /> Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project <br /> which avoid or substantially lessen the significant environmental effect as <br /> identified in the Final SR. <br /> Statement of Fact: <br /> The impact will be reduced by the following: <br /> Confine the waste handling operation to the Transfer Building. All doors, <br /> windows, and inscreened openings should remain closed unless actually in use. <br /> Provide pest control services around the perimeter of the building as necessary. <br /> H. LIGHT AND GLARE <br /> (1) POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT: LIGHT AND GLARE ON NEARBY <br /> RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES <br /> Although the transfer facility is not expected to operate during nighttime hours, <br /> it is likely to utilize lighting for security purposes. In addition, area lighting may <br /> be utilized in the outdoor recycling area and transfer trailer parking area <br /> Finding: <br /> Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project <br /> which avoid or substantially lessen the significant environmental effect as <br /> identified in the Final EIR.
