L
` January 19, 2006
NOA Project Number: E05161A
L of the one-hour percolation test was observed by Mr. David Van Dyne,Senior Registered
Environmental Health Specialist,EHD.
L Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on the
PVC casing using an electric well sounder with an depth accuracy of 1/100th foot All tabulated
values on the field data sheet (appendix) are in decimal feet. After water drop was observed, the
holes were checked for refill. The refill level was approximately 0.5 ft (6 inches) of water above the
L bottom level of the percolation test hole. The readings were taken approximately every 10 minutes
for a period of one hour.
L6.6 Percolation Test Forms and Results
LThe completed percolation test forms are included in the appendix of this report.
A shallow percolation test is defined by the EHD as being between 36 and 42 inches in depth;a
L satisfactory percolation rate for a shallow test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch drop.
Details of the percolation tests are summarized in Table 5.
Table 5.
Summary of Percolation Tests.
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test
Date Tested Test Depth (ft) (minutes/inch) Duration Comment
P-1 shallow,2-16-94 3.0 23 4-ht Satisfactory percolation rate
(Parcel 1)
P-2 shallow,12-7-05 313 3.3 1-hr Satisfactory percolation rate
(Parcel 2)
P-3 shallow,2-16-94 3.0 59 4-hr Satisfactory percolation rate
Parcel 3
Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallow' test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch.
r
6.7 Discussion of Percolation Test Results
6. The soils within the sewage disposal areas of the proposed parcels have demonstrated a satisfactory
percolation rate in accordance with the requirements of the EHD. The soils of the Site appear to be
suitable for a standard septic system.
V
6.8 Discussion of Septic System Sizing
LSeptic system construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards
where applicable.
L
9
L "'44
L
