Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system, with the exception of the residences located
southwest of the intersection of Lower Sacramento Road and Woodbridge Road, which
were assumed to utilize municipal sewer services. Using this method, it is estimated
that 21 or more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of
the Site.
The general area consists of agricultural land, orchards, and scattered rural residences.
A residential subdivision, golf course, and church are located to the southwest.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, it appears that the septic Sl3,b)
systems in the area utilize leach lines or leach lines with sumps. The septic permits can
be found in Appendix 4 of this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected septic usage on the Site would be from the existing system at the
mobile home. Although no residential development is planned at this time, San Joaquin
County would allow a primary and secondary residence to be placed on each parcel.
Any new residences would utilize new septic systems.
Ground Water Information
Depth and Gradient
Live Oak reviewed ground-water elevation information available from the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District to determine the ground water
levels near the Site. Data from the fall of 2013 and spring of 2014 were the most recent
available from this source. According to an analysis of these maps (Plates 5 and 6), the
ground water elevation near the Site is approximately 10 feet above mean sea level; the
ground-water flow in the area is to the northeast; the rate could not be calculated.
Given that the ground elevation of the Site is 45 to 50 feet above sea level, based on
the County ground water maps the depth to ground water below the Site is estimated to
range between 35 to 40 feet.
LOGE 1505 Page 3
