The site is bound to the north by Highway 120 and to the south by railroad tracks and open pasture
land. To the west is another trucking company,Food Express, Inc. and an almond orchard. To the
east is open farmland and very low density housing.
According to San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department records, there have been no
recorded cases of septic system modifications occurring in the immediate study area. This is due
to the very low density housing in the study area, along with the sandy soil structure of the
surrounding soil.
[3] PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF THE SUBJECT SITE
The subject parcel is proposed to be developed into a trucking yard with a new building. Most of
the Company's trucks will be on the road or parked at the driver's residences. The subject facility
will be primarily for repair work and administration. The building will have a sewage disposal
system and a domestic water well which must be in compliance with San Joaquin County Codes.
[4] PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK SITING,USAGE AND NITRATE LOADING CALCS.
The sandy soil structure is conducive for favorable percolation as evidenced by the attached
percolation rate. The septic tank servicing the subject building is to be 1600 gallons in size with
a tightline extending 80-feet to the leachfield. There is to be no parking, structures or storage
over the leachfield area. There will be a 100% replacement area as required for commercial
development in the event of leachline failure. The septic system and domestic water well must
conform to all of the "distance" separation requirements from applicable objects as stated in the
County Codes.
From the following calculations, the leachline length is determined:
1600 gal tank X .200 Soil Factor = 320 feet of leachline. The leachfield may be structured two
different ways based upon this calculation. There may be three - 100 foot sections of leachline, or
two - 60 foot sections and two sumps at the ends of these two leachlines. These sumps should have
the dimensions of four feet wide, twelve feet long and six feet deep.
r
I
' It is being proposed that four people, on average, will occupy the structure during various hours of
I
the days of the week. Raw sewage flushed into a septic tank usually contains very little nitrate.
Approximately '/a to 1/9 of the nitrogen (N) in sewage is part of fecal protein with the remainder
' l *ality Control Inspection
