the Site were orchard since 1952 or earlier. The structures on the Site were constructed approximately 20 to 25 years ago. Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage Existing Septic System l Ipne septic system exists on the Site to serve the residence. Proposed Septic System According to Mr. Kamps, no new construction is planned for the Site at this time. However, County regulations permit a second dwelling unit to be placed on Parcel 1 and a new home to be placed on Parcel 2 at some point in the future. Any new residences would utilize new septic systems. On-Site Septic Permit History One permit related to septic systems for the Site was identified at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated April 1986, is for a new septic system to serve a mobile home (approximate location of current residence). The system utilizes a 1,600-gallon septic tank and two 80-foot leach lines ending in 4-foot by 12-foot by 8-foot deep sumps. The address listed on the permit is 14442 Highway 120. This permit is included in Appendix 4. Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery from GoogleEarthTM was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 27 or more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site. The general area consists of orchards and agricultural land, with scattered rural residences. Septic Permit History in the Vicinity Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the area utilize leach lines or leach lines with sumps.
