\... `.Ogle <br /> October 31,2003 <br /> NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER LE03-311 <br /> 3.1.3 San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services <br /> ,., The San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services(OES)web site was searched on September <br /> 15, 2003 in an attempt to determine if there are any files present at that agency which note any <br /> hazardous materials releases or spills on the subject property or in the vicinity of the subject property. <br /> No files were found for the addresses of 28567 East Highway 120; however, dairies are currently <br /> exempt from OES regulation. <br /> According to Ms. Michelle Halliwell of the OES,no incident reports are on file at that agency for the <br /> subject property or properties within one-quarter mile(personal communication, October 31, 2003). <br /> A review of the "Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge" files within one-quarter mile of the <br /> subject property was conducted on September 24,2003. One notice involving 5,000 gallons of dairy <br /> waste discharged to an irrigation ditch was found for the subject property;the date of this notice was <br /> September 15, 1998. This notice is included in Appendix G. No other notices within one-quarter <br /> mile were found. <br /> 3.1.4 Escalon Fire District <br /> The Escalon Fire District was contacted by telephone in an attempt to determine if there were any <br /> files present at that agency which note any hazardous materials storage, releases or spills, <br /> underground storage tanks, above ground storage tanks, or leaking underground storage tanks on <br /> the subject property or in the vicinity of the subject property. <br /> According to Mr. Terry Pinheiro, Assistant Chief, the Fire District does not keep files for <br /> underground storage tanks. Mr. Pinheiro stated that,in his 15 years of experience in the area,he was <br /> unaware of any hazardous materials incidents taking place at Van de Pol Farms. He did not have any <br /> agricultural chemical sheets from the Office of Emergency Services on file for the subject property <br /> (personal communication, September 22, 2003). <br /> 3.1.S San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner <br /> The San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office was contacted in an effort to determine <br /> whether the subject property had been used in the past for agricultural purposes, and whether <br /> " agricultural chemicals had been used on the subject property. According to Ms. Hazel Gallego of the <br /> Commissioner's office,the following restricted materials permits and agricultural pesticide use reports <br /> were found for the subject property under the name of Van de Pol: <br /> 8 <br />
