1%0 ' I../
October 31,2003
NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER LE03-311
Chemical names, persistence, use, and details in the above table are based on review of information
available from the California EPA Department of Pesticide Regulation (www.cdpr.ca.gov) and the
Pesticide Management Education Program at Cornell University(pmep.cce.cornell.edu). From this
review, we have concluded that the two chemicals of greatest concern for the subject property are
cyanazine and MCPA dimethylamine salt. Both are listed as potential groundwater contaminants.
Little is known about the persistence of cyanazine in groundwater, and MCPA salts are described as
"highly stable in water" (Cornell).
The records provided by Ms. Gallego and information obtained from the above two sources are
included in Appendix F of this report.
3.1.6 Water Supply and Sewage Disposal System
The EHD well and septic permit files were searched in an effort to obtain copies of permits for any
water wells or septic tanks on the subject property. Two septic permits, dated February 15, 1966 and
November 2, 1966,were found. These permits indicate that a septic system and well are both located
near the existing residence on the subject property; the permits are included in Appendix G of this
report.
3.1.7 California Integrated Waste Management Board
The Solid Waste Information System (SWIS) database is maintained by the California Integrated
Waste Management Board (CIWMB). The SWIS database contains an inventory of solid waste
disposal facilities or landfills. These may be active or inactive facilities or open dumps that failed to
meet RCRA Section 2204 criteria for solid waste landfills or disposal sites.
The SWIS database was reviewed online (http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/Landfills/) on September 9,
2003; the subject property did not appear on the SWIS database at this time. The SWIS database
.- listed no sites within a one-quarter mile radius of the subject property.
3.1.8 Pacific Gas & Electric
PG&E was contacted on October 31, 2003 regarding the PCB content of the transformers on the
subject property. No reply has been received.
3.1.9 Site Reconnaissance
A visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted prior to the compilation of this report.
Photographs of the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B. A site
visit/assessment checklist is attached to this report as Appendix D.
10
