4 . 0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> 4. 1 Project Objective And Overview <br /> Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC proposes to permit its property to <br /> ensure a reliable, continuous supply of sand products during the <br /> next 3 to 4 year period for the rapidly growing San Joaquin <br /> region . Production based on market demand will be within the <br /> range of 1 . 0 million to 1 . 5 million tons per year . The raw <br /> material will be extracted with scrapers and transported from <br /> the quarry area to a washing plant . Screened sand will be <br /> conveyed to stockpiles and load-out area, from whence it will be <br /> transported to a point of ultimate use or to a permitted offsite <br /> processing facility owned by others . Independent haulers will be <br /> used for transporting run-of-mine materials to market and to the <br /> remote processing facility . The clay and silt that is washed <br /> out is needed on site as a base for the permanent liner and to <br /> reinforce (Insure) that the slope portion of the pond is safe . <br /> 4. 2 Project Location <br /> The Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC property is located in the <br /> southeast quadrant of the intersection of Interstate 5 and <br /> Highway 120 . It consists of approximately 162 acres , which is <br /> designated as Assessor ' s Parcel No . 241-030-03 . The property is <br /> bounded on the north by the State Highway 120 freeway. A Union <br /> Pacific Railroad line parallels the south boundary . The <br /> location of the railroad tracks and an electrical power line is <br /> shown on Exhibit 1 of the Reclamation Plan . <br /> The site is presently being used as an almond orchard that is <br /> approaching the end of its 20-year life cycle . <br /> Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC <br /> 1 - February 3, 2000 <br />
