Geologic Description - Briefly describe the general <br /> geologic setting, with more detailed geologic description of <br /> mineral deposit to be mined, and principal soil or rock types <br /> present <br /> The Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC sand deposit is situated lies <br /> in the Great Central Valley of California adjacent to <br /> Interstate 5 and State Highway 120 south of the town of <br /> Lathrop . <br /> Exploratory borings encountered a layer of sand and silt soil <br /> with a typical organic content underlain by sand and silty sand <br /> deposits of recent origin . Beneath the recent deposits are <br /> sands and silts of Pleistocene origin . <br /> 11 . Environmental Description - Briefly describe the <br /> environment of site and surrounding area . Include existing <br /> area land use, soil , vegetation , ground water elevation , <br /> surface water characteristics , average annual rainfall and <br /> other factors pertaining to environmental impacts and their <br /> mitigation and reclamation : <br /> The surface of the land within the project area currently <br /> supports an almond orchard .
