Figure g is a topographic map of the project area which shows <br /> geographic features including the adjacent highways, railroads, <br /> San Joaquin River , railroads , and drainage to the southwest to <br /> a canal leading to the river . <br /> Soils in the project area have formed from alluvial flooding, <br /> and are rated as Class III if irrigated, and Class IV without <br /> irrigation . These soils are marginal for farming. In the case <br /> of class IV soils, careful crop management must be exercised <br /> for successful farming.
