Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report ** APN: 213-080-22,27,28,29,&31 ** 131.02 Acres Total
Parcel 1=66.72 Acres, Parcel 2=41.58 Acres, Parcel 3 = 10 acres, Parcel 4= 10 Acres
Not a Part Parcel=2.72 Acres
Mitigation Measures: The amount of cattle involved in the dairy business being
conducted on the subject property are contained in a relatively small area and the large
overall acreage comprising the subject property offsets the number of animals involved;
so no excessive nitrate concentrations are anticipated from animal overpopulation and no
correction for excess nitrate concentration is needed on account of animals.
No chemical residues or spillage of hazardous materials were noted on the subject
property. Two blue drums were noted in the dairy area on the subject property in
Photograph1 8A) and were in use at the time of the field review and did not appear to be
a matter of improper storage or use.
Only one of the eleven septic facility installations researched needed to be
replaced after its initial installation, so no undue contamination problems are apparent
from septic system installations.
The majority of the Danny Rocha property has been subjected only to agricultural
use. Just a small portion of the subject property in the south corner has been devoted to
the dairy business which is a clean operation compared to a heavy industrial use There is
no apparent evidence indicating the property has been subjected to industrial or
commercial type development use that would have contributed possible contamination to
the property. Also the dairy business requires clean and sanitary conditions in its
operations.
Neither the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's report or the
property owner's filled-in "Environmental Questionnaire" contained no record of
restricted material permits and product applications, and the DBCP and Nitrate (NO3)—
Land Use Maps available in the San Joaquin Environmental Health Department's Office
contained no real detrimental concerns for these two chemical concentrations.
Also there does not appear to have been any subsurface construction present or
past that would contribute to below ground contamination.
Continuing the present conditions and use on the subject property is not expected
to impact ground water nor cause other health hazards.
Walter E.
