The issue is whether
these cargo trailers meet the Farm Machinery Sales classification criteria.
• Condition 1.g. requires a 10-foot landscape strip across the frontage of Paradise Road and
along 1-205. The landscaping along Paradise Road is complete and effectively installed.
The landscaping along 1-205 needs to be reestablished.
• Condition 1.j. permitted a maximum of two advertising signs, only one of which may be a
free standing sign. One free standing sign was approved with a Building Permit.
Additionally, there are free standing signs at each of the two entrances, including flags. All
other signs have been removed. Development Title Section 9-1710.4(h) provides that for a
development project in Agricultural zones, one free standing sign may be permitted for each
street frontage. Of the two signs over the entrance, the northernmost sign could be
approved subject to issuance of a building permit. The southerly sign over the entrance is
not permitted. One banner sign is permitted as a temporary sign (Development Title
Section 9-1710.5) for each building 18 feet or higher. The sign standards may be modified
subject to Site Approval and making required findings.
This matter was brought to the Planning Commission as an "Other Business" item on January
y` 21, 1999. The Planning Commission considered the information provided in the staff memos of
December 3, 1998, to Commission Morri and the Planning Commission on January 13, 1999,
and voted unanimously 6-0 to set the matter for a public hearing on March 4, 1999.
TMG/ss/blm
Attachments
