PA-0900273 OF CHARLES AND PAULINE VIEIRA (APN: 017-260-20) (11420 EAST PELTIER ROAD, ACAMPO) This.1 project is a Use Permit application for a kennel to be conducted within an existing 443 square foot portion of an existing residence along with a separate 1,800 square foot outdoor exercise area. The kennel primarily will be for breeding. Although the applicant expects a maximum capacity of twenty-five (25) dogs, .the applicant expects an average of two dogs per month. The dogs'will be kept indoors at night. (Use Type: Animal Specialty Services-Kennel) The :',project site is located on the south side of Peltier Road, 1,800 feet west of Elliott Road, Acampo. The General Plan designation is Limited Agriculture (AIL) and the zoning designation is Limited Agriculture, 5 acre minimum (AL-5). The Community Development Department has reviewed the above-referenced application and has the following comments: Background I' The applicant applied for a Use Permit application on November 9, 2009. On November 13, 2009;, the Community Development Department received a complaint and opened an enforcement case (EN-0900611) on the subject property for the operation of a kennel without approved permits. Access The applicant has an existing thirteen foot paved driveway that is proposed for access. Development Title Section 9-1015.5(h)(1) states, "Access driveways shall have a width of no less than twenty-five (25)feet for two-way aisles and sixteen (16) feet for one-way aisles except that in no case shall driveways designated as fire department access be less than twenty(20)feet wide:" The minimum required twenty-five feet driveway width must be shown on the Improvement Plan. 1
