The purpose of this written reclamation plan is to support the Quarry Excavation
Application for a permit to continue the reclamation operation.
1. GEOLOGY-
The site is identified and described (Ref 1) as composed of soil types supporting mainly
livestock grazing, dryland farming and irrigated cropland.
The area is one of dissected terraces and identified as No. 4 and possibly No. 16 on the
General Soil Map.(Ref. 2) The category No. 4 description (Columbia-Vina-Coyotecreek) soils are
described as used mainly as irrigated cropland. See complete description from Ref. 1.
Since Phase One was successfully reclaimed and is now in row crops, no problems are
anticipated with continuing the reclamation into the next phase. Ore and waste rock producing
acid drainage was not a problem in the completed phase. All drainage is contained on site.
The elevation of the reclaimed area will conform to adjacent Grades to facilitate farming
operations. Seismologic stability of the site is unknown. However when the reclamation process
is completed, the oriv slopes remaining will be the agricultural slopes required for farming use.
At the tilokelumne River section, an area designated as buffer zone will result in existing slopes of
approximately i 1: : 1 to 2 : 1 remaining. Slopes created by excavation will be 2 : 1 or flatter at
this buffer zone. The stability of this remaining buffer zone can not be ascertained at this time. It
is anticipated a ;a,.-.-r of rock: will be -ncounte.ed at this site. The elevation of the top of the buffer
zone is a'oout i i. feet and the water surface 58 to 60 feet.
