Y
July 15, 2005
Barb and Dave Huecksteadt Cp 8 ZO
4052 Scottsdale RdmmuitY
Lodi, CA 95240 Dept
Re: PA-0500367(GP) & PA-0500368(ZR)
To Mr. Rick Griffin:
We are opposed to these proposed reclassifications at 122036 N. State.Rte. 99, Lodi.
This geographical area should not have a truck terminal imposed on it. There are farming
operations of 40-100 acres on fertile land where the owners are committed to agriculture.
According to the General Plan 2010 Review, there will be a fixture loss to San Joaquin.
County of 85% important farmland. The plan urged that reclassifications should not be
made hastily and.change the zoning of an Agricultural area before its' time. There is
plenty of Industrial zoned, available land within l mile of freeway interchanges, that are
already built to withstand truck use, close to Lodi. Trucks would be incapable of making
safe turns entering or exiting the Armstrong Rd. freeway interchange.
Micke Grove Park is accessed by Armstrong Rd. on its' north side. This road is 35 mph,
with a small shoulder. Families ride bikes to the Park on a regular basis. One only has to
look at the torn up shoulders on Harney Ln. and Eight Mile Rd. to see that park goers
would suffer greatly. Many houses bordering Armstrong Rd. are at least 50 years old, so
are built close to the road. This route to 1-5 would obviously be impacted by dust, noise,
and road competition from the trucks. It's also a plus for the county for visitors to see
that our farmers are good land stewards and that we cherish our beautiful parks.
Please place us on the mailing list for notification of the public hearing time, date and
place.
Respectfully,
Barb and-Dave Huecksteadt
i
t
I
i
I
