Increased Traffic at Interchange:
This interchange is very heavily used at the present time. It has
become increasingly unsafe for vehicles and pedestrians alike.
Commercial traffic will increase due to the increased number of users
coming into and out of the recycling center both in individual vehicles
and trucks for loading and unloading purposes.
As it is, this interchange is having a difficult time keeping up with
the current traffic. The lack of proper turning lanes, road and lane
demarcations, speed limit signs only contribute to an already dangerous
crossing.
Since the over crossing provides for pedestrian access, the addition of
increased vehicle activity at the southwest corner of Lathrop and the
Frontage Road intersection, will contribute to the increased danger for
bicyclists, joggers and youngsters on skateboards and roller-blades.
2. Nuisances :
Noise:
The additional noise from trucks loading and unloading recycling bins at
odd hours , conveyor belts, etc. , will be a nuisance to the homeowners
adjacent to and across the street from the facility.
Odor:
Fermentation from residue in cans and bottles will result in odors , and
will attract flies and other insects .
