4. FIRE MARSHAL: (Staff Contact: Steve Dalton, 468-2229) <br /> a. The following Uniform Fire Code and San Joaquin County Ordinance Code requirements <br /> will be applicable and shall be incorporated in the construction plans before submittal to <br /> the Community Development Department for a building permit: <br /> (1) Fire flow will be provided for proposed buildings by the use of public water mains <br /> (Appendix III-A of the Uniform Fire Code). <br /> (2) Fire hydrants shall be supplied in accordance with Appendix III-B of the Uniform <br /> Fire Code. <br /> (3) Fire protection systems shall in installed according to Article 10 of the California <br /> Fire Code and the appropriate standards and guidelines adopted in Chapter 35 <br /> of the California Building Code and the California Electrical Code. <br /> (4) All valves controlling the water supply for automatic fire sprinkler systems and <br /> water-flow switches shall be monitored in accordance with Section 904.3.1 of the <br /> California Fire Code. <br /> (5) Fire department access roads shall be in accordance with Section 902.2 of the <br /> California Fire Code and the standards adopted by the San Joaquin County Fire <br /> Chiefs Association. <br /> (6) Fire department access to buildings shall be in accordance with Section 902.4 <br /> of the California Fire Code. A knox box shall be installed according to fire <br /> department instructions. <br /> (7) Fire extinguishers shall be installed in accordance with the California Fire Code, <br /> Volume 2, Standard 10-1. <br /> (8) Fire permits may be required prior to occupancy for operations hazardous to life <br /> or property (California Fire Code Section 105.2.1). <br /> _ San Joaquin County UP-973/Mason <br /> Community Development Page 13 <br />
