2.2 Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site into two new parcels,
approximately five and three acres in size (Plate 3). Mr. Mathfallu indicated that
he plans to build a new house and plant orchard on the rear parcel.
2.3_ Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from
the San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as
vineyard located at approximately 55 feet above mean sea level. One structure
is indicated at the northeast corner of the Site. A driveway is depicted leading
from Winery Road, along the western property line of the Site, to a building
cluster to the southwest. Surrounding properties are shown to be vineyard,
orchard, and vacant land. Industrial Waste Ponds are depicted one-quarter mile
to the west of the Site. This map is included as Plate 4 in Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin
County Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs
were dated 1940, 1952, 1963, and 1975. Three additional photographs, dated
October 1998, March 2005, and December 2011, were obtained from the San
Joaquin County District Viewer. These photos are included as Appendix 3 of
this report.
In the 1940 photo, the Site appears to be a vineyard. One small structure is
located on the southern side of the Site. A structure can be seen on the parcel
excluded from the southeast corner of the Site. The surrounding properties are
vineyards and orchards with scattered building clusters; a small building cluster is
located to the southwest of the Site.
In the 1952 photo, a new structure can be seen on the parcel excluded from the
southeast corner of the site. Wastewater ponds can be seen near the railroad
tracks to the west of the Site. No other significant changes are apparent.
In the 1963 photo, a new structure can be seen at the northeast corner of the
Site. On-ramps can be seen for Highway 99 to the north and south of the Site.
No other significant changes are apparent.
LOGE 1416 2
