SA-99-31 OF
VEER AND BINA SINGH (C/O JODHA GILL)
--------------------------------
The applicant has submitted the above referenced application to establish a convenience store
with gasoline sales. The General Plan designation is C/RS and the zoning is C-RS. The
project site is located on the west side of the State Route 99 East Frontage, 550 feet south of
Collier Road, Collierville.
■ Neighboring Opposition: The Community Development Department has received five
letters opposing this project. Concerns include dangerous traffic situations from high-
speed traffic exiting the freeway, increased traffic, noise, ground water and environmental
contamination, and crime.
■ Environmental Health: Based on staff's review of the application and responses received
from referral agencies, the following issues, identified by the Environmental Health
Division, must be resolved prior to action on this application. A representative from the
Environmental Health Division will discuss these issues in detail at the Development
Committee meeting.
1. Public services: Environmental Health is recommending denial of this project due to
inadequate parcel size for a well and septic tank. If the project is to proceed,
connection to public sewers and the construction of a public water system will be
required by Environmental Health.
2. Contamination: The site is contaminated from a previous gas station and is required to
obtain clean closure letter from Local Oversight Program of the Environmental Health
Division.
KL:ss
SA9931 DC
C: Veer and Bina Singh
Jodha Gill
