Analysis <br /> Background <br /> The site is currently occupied by a personal storage company (A-1 U-Stor). The applicant, A-1 Stor, LLC, <br /> submitted Site Approval Application No. PA-03-601 for an off-premises (billboard) sign. The sign is <br /> proposed to be (50) fifty feet high and a total of 672 square feet. The proposed sign meets all San <br /> Joaquin County Development Title requirements and is consistent with the San Joaquin County General <br /> Plan. The Site Approval application has been referred to the Planning Commission because the City of <br /> Stockton Community Development Department is recommending that the Site Approval be denied. <br /> City of Stockton Community Development Department <br /> In a letter dated April 26, 2004, the City of Stockton Community Development Department recommended <br /> denial of Site Approval No. PA-03-601 because the proposed sign is inconsistent with the City's <br /> Low/Medium-Density Residential General Plan designation for the site.
