03/1012009 15:30 2094683694 SJCIBOARD OF SUPERVI raUt ulfu1
COPY TO EACH
SUPERVISOR
C: CAO
To: cc
Board of Supervisors CDD Director
222 E. Weber Ave. 7th floor -COB
Stockton, CA 95202
RLaEVErJ
Cc: 200Amin Mahmood
5904 N. EI Dorado St. #D Community Development 1]ept,
Stockton, CA 95207
Re:
Use Permit # PA-0800108 (UP)
I am the property owner of 4447 and 4449 East Shippee Mane, Stockton 95212,
My properties border the proposed Masjid Umar Farooq facilities on the south
and east sides. I have lived on Shippee Lane for 40 years.
I am writing to express my support for the proposed religious facility to be built on
this site.
For years this piece of property has been vacant and unkempt, frequently strewn
with litter, dumped garbage and the occasional abandoned car. During these
years, my house has been broken into three times, with access gained over the
back fence of my property ( ie adjoining the south end of the vacant lot property).
In the past year, my barn/ outbuilding ( adjoining the east side of the vacant lot)
has been sprayed with graffiti twice. (There has been no vandalism to my
property or that of my immediate neighbors since the chain link fence was
recently constructed around this lot :-).
All but one of the Shippee Lane home-owners whose properties border the
proposed mosque facility have expressed support for this project. The only
exception is the owner of 4417 Shippee Lane ( comer of Shippee & Frontage
Rd). This house is vacant and advertised for rent by a property management
company. We neighbors do not know the absentee owner of this house and
presume he/she is not concerned about the development of the vacant lot behind
this rental property.
I am sorry the final approval and construction of this project has been delayed for
so long and I look forward to welcoming the mosque and its attendees as my
neighbors soon.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
0
Nancy Shephard FEB 2 0 205n9
62 - ,q - 69 RECEIVED
