All new structures or any substantially improved structure shall be elevated a minimum of <br /> one (1) foot above the 100-year flood elevation ofiwsy-(27)feet NGVD. <br /> NOTE: <br /> Substantial improvement is defined by FEMA as more than a fifty percent improvement to the <br /> value of a structure. A structure's value is determined by the assessed value or by a licensed <br /> appraiser. The improvement value is determined by a bid from a licensed contractor or from the <br /> most recent Building Valuation Data Sheet. A flood certificate which substantiates that the <br /> structure is a minimum of 1 foot above the 100-year flood elevation may be submitted in leu of <br /> the substantial improvement criteria. <br /> GK:BN:sh <br />
