- GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
The existing well at the site was sampled and tested by FarWest Labs. The report shows 5.9 mg/L 33
— of Nitrates and <0.01 ug/L of DBCP. There is no third party involved in the sampling and testing.
The water is potable.
The Map, Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater, SJC, shows approximately 90'to static water.
G ?
SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION
i
The location of the percolation test hole is shown on the field data forms. The soil profile is
determined by observing the drilling speed and the material removed from the test hole. No pit
was dug.
The soil is marginal, containing dark clay in the upper level, and sandy clay layer(s)at deeper
strata. The USDA General Soil Map of SJC describes the soil as Jacktone-Hollenbeck-Stockton 2
and being somewhat poorly drained and moderately well drained, fine textured soils that are
moderately deep and deep to a cemented hardpan and that have been drained in some areas; on
basin rims and in basins. • 2
PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
` The location of the test hole is also shown on the Tentative Parcel Map. The 25' and 42" holes G 1
were augured first. From the soil removed from the 25'hole a determination is made to drill to a FL v3
certain level for an additional test hole. The process did not indicate a probable layer.
The test holes were prepared on May 8, 2" of small gravel were placed in the bottom of the holes
prior to placing the PVC pipe. After the pipe is in place, gravel is placed around the pipe to at
least 6" up from the bottom. The 24 hour soak lr,,gan at 0900 on May 9, 2006. The shallow hole
received 12" of water and the 25'hole receive 6" f water. At 0900,May 10, 2006,the 4 hour ( 3
testing began. The holes were dry. Procedure was followed of the EHD Policy for Percolation
Test Procedure.
The EHD representative, Mike Escotto, REHS,was present for the final two readings of the
selected test hole. (shallow hole). The test conformed to SJC Policy EHD 02-02. The Percolation
Test Form is included in this report.
The shallow hole test results of 5 min/in indicate a 6,000 SF leach field is required for Parcel
The developed parcel is designated as Remainder,on the Parcel Map, and was not tested. The
deep hole(25')had a percolation rate of 0.08' for the final reading. Surface runoff water must be
retained on site. The retention area for the surface runoff should be a separate area from the leach
field area. For best results the leach field surface area should be graded to drain to the retention
area. (0.0025 ft/ft min.)The septic system shall be installed by permit from and inspection by
EHD, SJC. Proper care of the septic system will insure longer trouble free performance. The size
of the lot provides adequate area for the on site utilities.
The system should be protected from drugs, medicine, cleaning fluids, paints, solvents, chemical
2. 2.
r
