These maps were used to determine the general depth and flow <br /> direction of regional ground water(Plates 2 through 5). Table 2 summarizes all the available <br /> ground-water information collected for the site and nearby area. <br /> Table 2. <br /> Summary of Available Ground Water Information. <br /> Date,Description,Source Groundwater Depth Notes <br /> Fall 1998, San Joaquin County Ground Greater than 100 feet in depth. Gradient is NNE at <br /> Water Map,Plates 2 and 4 6.9 ft/mile. <br /> Spring 1999,San Joaquin County Ground Between 80 and 90 feet in depth. Gradient is E at 7.3 ft/mile. <br /> Water Map,Plates 3 and 5 <br /> DZ IJ There are no wells on the subject property; therefore,no water quality samples were taken. <br /> L 6.0 GEOLOGY, SOILS,AND PERCOLATION TEST <br /> The surficial geology of the site is comprised of the Modesto Formation. The unit comprising <br /> the Pliestocene alluvium consists of distinct alluvial terraces and some alluvial fans and <br /> abandoned channel ridges. It consists of tan and light-grey gravelly sand, silt, and clay. The <br /> (�"1 Modesto was deposited by streams still existing today because the deposits, for the most part, <br /> Cly\ border existing streams. <br /> The surface and near surface soils located on the site are reported to be Boggiano clay loam and <br /> Finrod clay loam(Plate 7).2 Table 3 presents an excerpt of some selected engineering properties <br /> ' San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, 1999, Depth to ground-water map <br /> and ground-water elevation map for Spring and Fall 1998.
