Reid Ave., Linden, CA
Original report prepared by Earnest F. Smith
Report dated May 3, 2010
PA-1500250
Mr. Escotto:
To address the requirements of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, we
have prepared an update to the above report prepared by Earnest F. Smith in 2010. The
subject Site is the property located at 303 South Reid Avenue, Linden, owned by Joseph and
Linda Martinez. The report by Mr. Smith found no sources of contamination affecting the
subject Site. The aim of this addendum is to determine whether any new sources of
contamination have become present on the Site in the years since that report.
Site Inspection
Live Oak inspected the Site on April 22, 2016. The majority of the Site was open land from
which straw had recently been cut. A house, garage, and pump house were located on the
south side of the Site. A large chicken coop was observed to the northwest of the house. One
pole-mounted transformer was observed on the Site; it was labeled with a blue sticker indicating
that it is free of polychlorinated biphenyls. Approximately 13 vehicles were parked near the 12
house; most of these appeared to be operational. Domestic debris and miscellaneous objects
such as chairs, crates, tires, and appliances were noted in the area surrounding the house and
garage; it was unclear how much of this material was planned for use in the future. Neither
hazardous materials nor staining were noted, however, the ground surface could not be
inspected in many places due to vegetation and the presence of objects.
At the adjacent property to the south of the western side of the Site, several vehicles that
appeared to be inoperable were stored. The other surrounding properties appeared to be rural
residences and orchard.
Environmental v Engineering Geology Geophysics
