The following are comments regarding the proposed
project as it relates to the Linden Unified School District.
Linden Unified School District continues to oppose all major subdivision
applications within the district boundaries unless and until full mitigation c a n
be achieved.
As you know, as more developments are approved, the District is faced with
the challenge of providing adequate school housing for students generated
from the new development. The District aexperienced
hea stulastent
three generation yearsof
rate for single family home' development over
more than 1.06 per home. L oder this scenario, the District estimates that t h e
proposed subdivision will generate approximately seventeen new students to
the District.
The Linden Unified schools impacted by this development would be Linden
Elementary, serving grades kindergarten through fourth; Waterloo Elementary,
ght; and Linden High School, serving grades nine
serving grades five through ei
through twelve. Linden Elementary and Waterloo are currently experiencing
overcrowding at several glade levels, andhave
recently dded Additiopornal
e
student classrooms to accommodate the existing population.
growth of any kind will severely impact the District ability to house students.
