November 16, 2011
To: San Joaquin County Community Development Department
Attn: Mr. John Funderburg
Re: Munn & Perkins/George Reed Inc. Permit # QX-89-0002
Dear Mr. Funderburg,
We felt it necessary to again take time out of our day and write a letter
concerning this plant. When Munn & Perkins was granted permission
by you for extended hours of operation for 14 nights this past summer,
it made our lives in our own home miserable. We absolutely did hear
the plant and their more than 1,118 heavy truck loads, the plant noise,
jake- brakes, horns honking, loud banging, back up beepers, loaders
and even with our windows closed, we smelled and breathed in
horrible fumes, even though we were reassured by you that the plant
would make sure these would not be issues for us. It was a nightmare
for our family each and every night.
We would like to point out that we are represented as Site 3 in the
Bollard Acoustical Consultants, Inc. Noise Study, and where they are
stating that they placed "the meter on a tripod near the top of the hill",
is actually a minimum of at least 15 feet below our home and this
meter was on the far left side of our two story home, not in our yard, in
fact it sat away from the direct noise which is generated from the plant
into our yard.
