The Cemetery has been in existence at this location for well over 100
,,ears Our concems as Manager and Board of Directors of Burwood Cemetery areas follows
Noise Being so close to the proposed quant'area the noise from their large excavating
equipment ,,will be very disruptive to the families during funeral services. The equipment George
Reed, Inc. uses for excavation is quite large and with very loud safety alarms. At their current
location, approximately '/ mile West of the Cemetery the alarms on their equipment can be heard
at all times of the day. With their current distance from the Cemetery and fad the plant is lower
in elevation to the Cemetery it is not disruptive, hardly noticed. Families come here for funerals
and to remember loved ones already interred in the Cemetery appreciate thb quiet surroundings
and do not want to hear noise from the excavation equipment. There is nothing George Reed,
Inc can do to buffer the noise levels so close to the Cemetery.
Dust George Reed, Inc. states the dust will be less than a normal harvest season from the
existing orchards surrounding the area. The harvest season for the orchards is only one time per
year. George Reed's "harvest season" is eight to nine hours a day, five days a week, 52 weeks
per year for a period of twelve years at their proposed location. Any prevailing North wind will
send their daily dust to the direction of the Cemetery and the existing homes George Reed, Inc.
sans the dust will be controlled by using water trucks at the site Where does all the water they
use come from?
Haul route. The haul route as described will be West on River Road but that still does not stop
the other trucks that go to George Reed, Inc to purchase materials from them. The more
materials they have to sell just means more trucks going there to load. The intersection of River
Road and Harrold does not have a stop sign on River Road The trucks hauling across to the
processing plant will endanger other motorists as the} tum on to River Road then go a short
distance West where they will stop for on coming traffic to rum left In the fog this could pose
quite a problem with no stop signs on River Road or turn lanes
