water demands are projected to be approximately 5 gallons per minute year round. Irrigation demands <br /> will be seasonal and are anticipated to reach a maximum of 40 gpm during the summer. A larger 16" <br /> fire suppression well is also planned for, but the groundwater demands for this well are nearly zero. <br /> Water Samples <br /> The water system is regulated by SJCEHD. Water quality data for this well has been previously <br /> submitted to and on file with County EHD. <br /> Section 2 Soil Suitability <br /> Soil Profile and Geologic Information <br /> Extensive soil investigations were conducted at the site in 2016. A soil boring was conducted near the <br /> proposed leach field to a depth of 16.5'. The report indicates that soils consist of a mixture of silts, <br /> sands, and clays. See Figure 1. <br /> Soil chemistry and texture were analyzed by an independent laboratory. The soil sample was taken at <br /> the proposed leach field area from a depth of approximately 3'. Test results indicate very low <br /> concentrations of nitrogen in the soil and neutral pH of 7.12. The laboratory test results are provided in <br /> Figure 2. Soil texture was described by the laboratory as clay-loam with 41.6%sand, 20.7%silt,and <br /> 37.7%clay. <br /> Natural Resources Conservation Service data indicates the top soils consist of Capay and Stomar clays, <br /> with 0-2%slopes. <br /> Percolation Testing <br /> Two(2)shallow percolation tests were conducted at the Site in the area proposed for sewage disposal. <br /> Percolation test procedures conformed to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> requirements, as discussed herein. <br /> Test Preparation: Shelves were cut into the soil at 30 inch and 48 inch depths.' In each shelf,a 12"x <br /> 6" diameter hole was prepared by adding 2"of gravel to the bottom of the hole. Soil removed from the <br /> hole was examined and logged. Soils removed were slightly damp due to extensive rainfall the area <br /> experienced over the past 3 months. Reference boards were installed level and above the test holes. <br /> The test holes were saturated less than 24 hours prior to beginning the test. <br /> Test Procedure: Percolation tests were performed on March 6, 2017, beginning at 11:27 a.m. Due to <br /> soil conditions,a four(4) hour test was performed. Water level measurements were taken every 30 <br /> minutes or shorter(if the water level was low)during this four-hour period. A San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department representative observed the last half hour of each test. <br /> ' A deeper test hole was provided in the event final grade design changes. <br /> 31 Page <br />
