rr. ni/
May 4,2004
NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER E04029A
• Three pole-mounted transformers on or adjacent to the subject property were
manufactured in 1960. As such, they can be considered PCB-contaminated.
• Piles of stakes and wires from the former vineyard are located in the southeastern portion
of the subject property.
3.4 Past Off-Site Potential Sources of Contamination
No above-or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from past uses of surrounding properties.
3.5 Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination
No above-or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from current uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following:
• A large pile of pipes, metal, and other debris from agricultural operations was observed
to the immediate east of the subject property.
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
The pile of debris to the east does not appear to pose an immediate threat to the subject property.
Though the rep resentative o f PG&E did no t have an exact to cation f or the three 1960
transformers, the three oldest-looking transformers observed during the site visit were located on
the property at the location of the former residence.
Because the subject property will continue to be used for agricultural purposes only, the potential
for persistent residue from agricultural chemicals should not be considered an environmental issue
on the property at this time.
If the above-ground diesel tanks are to remain in use, they should similarly not be considered an
environmental issue. Above-ground tanks do require appropriate secondary containment,
however.
12
