SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The parcel is situated between Jahant Road and Collier Road at 24720 N. Sowles Road. (East <br /> side) In Section 11,T4N, R7E. The paved road leading east is approximately 1300' then south <br /> approximately 625'to the parcel. The Tentative Parcel Map is included and delineates the four <br /> proposed lots along with the location map. <br /> PHYSICAL SETTING <br /> The site is in an area of San Joaquin-Bruella soils. The USDA description is Moderately well <br /> drained and well drained, moderately coarse textured and medium textured soils that are <br /> moderately deep to a cemented hardpan or are very deep;on low terrace. Clay is the <br /> predominate classification for the soil in this area. <br /> The depth to static water is approximately 120' as shown on the Lines of Equal Depth to <br /> Groundwater,Spring 1999 map published by the SJC Flood Control/Water Conservation <br /> District. <br /> HISTORICAL LAND USE INFORMATION <br /> Information sources used to evaluate past and present land use activities at the subject property <br /> include: <br /> Aerial Photographs <br /> Topographic Maps <br /> Owner Statements <br /> AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS <br /> Aerial photographs for the years 1957,1984, 1994 as furnished by EDR are not adequate to show <br /> the site and general area. They only show a portion of the site in the NW corner of the aerials. <br /> The 1983 aerial from SJC shows the entire 21.7 acres as non farmed or fallow, property. <br /> TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS <br /> Topographic maps for the years 1939,1942,1953,1968,1979 and 1993 were examined. No <br /> structures or identifiable land uses are depicted on the maps. The existing residence(constructed <br /> in 1985) is located near the NW corner of the parcel.(See 1993 map for location of the parcel) <br /> The 100' contour is shown on the parcel. The land slopes southwesterly. Some surface drainage <br /> is to the north to a low area. A resident at the low area stated the water is about one foot deep in <br /> the winter in the ponding area. <br /> 2. <br />
