r <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The parcel is situated in the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Underwood/N. Sowles <br /> ,r Roads at 24951 N. Sowles Road. (West side)In Section 10,T4N, R7E. The parcel is Lot 32, <br /> Underwood Tract. The Tentative Parcel Map is included and delineates the two proposed 5 acre <br /> lots along with the location map. A SFR and barn with supporting feed equipment exist on the <br /> northerly portion of the parcel. Beef cattle are raised on the parcel, in the pasture.N. Sowles <br /> Road is a two lane paved County Road naming from Peltier Road to north of Liberty Road. <br /> Approximately seven square miles in the area are zoned AL-5. (See App. "O")The adjoining <br /> .� properties are 5 to 10 acre sites,many with horses.No manufacturing or industrial sites are in the <br /> immediate area. The proposed subdivision will leave one well on eac parce . <br /> L PHYSICAL SETTING <br /> y The site is in an area of San Joaquin-Bruella soils. The USDA description is Moderately well <br /> drained and well drained,moderately coarse textured and medium textured soils that are <br /> moderately deep to a cemented hardpan or are very deep;on low terrace. Clay is the <br /> predominate classification for the soil in this area. <br /> The depth to static water is approximately 115'as shown on the Lines of Equal Depth to <br /> ` Groundwater,Spring 1999 map published by the SJC Flood Control/Water Conservation <br /> District. <br /> HISTORICAL LAND USE INFORMATION <br /> Information sources used to evaluate past and present land use activities at the subject property <br /> r include: <br /> Aerial Photographs <br /> Topographic Maps <br /> Owner Statements <br /> AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS <br /> Aerial photographs for the years 1957,1982 & 1993 as finnished by EDR show the following: <br /> 1957-Row crops/pasture for approximately 1000'of frontage along west side of Sowles Road.No <br /> structures. <br /> 1982-Pasture/row crops evident. Residence at 24951 N. Sowles Road is indicated.. Property <br /> detail by County Assessor shows structure built in 1972. <br /> 1993-Same basic agricultural use of site indicated. Additional development in area indicated. This <br /> general area being Zoned AL-5 will continue to subdivide into 5 acre parcels.. <br /> 2. <br />
