Campbell MS-92-17 (Supp.lements LA-91-40)
be the same material , but it ' s character changed to a lighter color
and was drier and much more difficult to excavate down to the 8 1 /2
feet depth with the hand operated tools available . This excavation
shows that there would be no water within five (5) feet of the
bottom of a three (3) feet depth leach line trench . As shown on the
attached "Parcel Map" , the excavated Soil Profile Hole is situate
at an elevation of about 180 feet and the land of Parcel 1
immediately to the north drops down 25 feet to an elevation of 155
feet with no evidence of standing water anywhere . '
" No water was encountered in excavating to the 8 1,/2 feet depth .
r
The San Joaquin County Flood Control And Water Conservation Map
entitled "Lines Of Equal Depth To Water Wells" dated Fall 1990
" shows the water levels nearest the subject property to be in excess
of 130 feet below the ground surface.
Percolation Tests :
One ( 1 ) percolation test hole on the subject parcel was
excavated to about a 3-foot depth . The location of the test hole is
shown on the attached "Parcel Map" .
The percolation test conducted was performed in accordance
with the percolation test procedures outlined in the "Manual Of
G Septic Tank Practice" published by the Department Of Health
Education And Welfare and the requirements of the San Joaquin
County Public Health Service, Environmental Health Division.
" On April 2 and 3, 1992 , one percolation test was performed on
the subject property under my direction in conformance with the San
Joaquin County Public Health Service, Environmental Health Division
regulations and the San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Standards .
The percolation test hole resulted in the percolation rate and
determination shown on the attached "Field Note Sheet" and are
summarized as follows :
Parcel No. Test Hole Percolation Rate Minimum usable
No. Minutes Per inch Disposal Area
(Square Feet)
1 1 24 . 0 10 , 000 j
RECOMMENDATIONS :
A 10 , 000 square feet minimum usable disposal. area is
recommended for Parcel 1 to accommodate a subsurface horizontal '
leaching field. i
Supplemental Soil Suitability Study 3
i
i
