GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
On 31 March 2009,a ground water sample was collected from the well head of the on-site domestic
well, before the carbon filtration system. Water was allowed to run for approximately 10 minutes
before the sample was collected into laboratory-supplied containers without sample preservative.
Following sample collection, the water sample was appropriately labeled with sample date, time, /
identification and sampler's initials and placed on ice in a cooler until delivery to the laboratory for {'f'so
analysis.
E
The ground water sample collected from the site domestic well was transported to Associated
Laboratories of Orange, California, a State of California Department of Public Health-certified
analytical laboratory for analysis. The sample was analyzed for:
• Nitrate as NO3 by EPA Method 300.0; and
1,2-Dibromo-3-chloropropane (DBCP) by EPA Method 504.1. t(
4.5. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER
I
Nitrate as NO3 was reported in the ground water sam cted from the site domestic well at 8.73
illigrams per liter (mg/1). DBCP was reporte at 0.37 crograms per liter (ptg/l) in the ground
Z ater sample collected from the site domestic we .
The results for both Nitrate as NO,and DBCP were similar to the results from the sampling in 1999.
The laboratory report(Associated Laboratories Lab Project.No.985011),quality assurance/quality
control report and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix E.
5.0. SOIL PROFILE
On 27 March 2009, an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Permit was issued by the SJCEHD
(Appendix D) for the above referenced property. On 30 March 2009, a 4-inch diameter hand auger (2,
was utilized to advance a percolation test hole to 42-inches bsg in the site parcel.
5.1.
