15 April 2009
AGE-NC-09-1683
In 1999, a soil boring was advanced at the site to a total depth of 40 feet bsg; ground water was not
encountered in the boring(NEO, 1999). Additionally, ground water was not encountered in the 42-
inch percolation test hole constructed on 30 March 2009.
Based upon a review of well permit records at SJCEHD by an AGE representative, the total depth
of site's domestic water well is estimated to be greater than 100 feet bsg; well depths for the
surrounding area were reported to be between 50 feet and 155 feet bsg.
4.2. GROUND WATER CONTAMINATION IN THE AREA OF THE SITE
The immediately adjacent and outlying land use for the parcel is agricultural in nature, with the urban
City of Lodi located approximately 0.70 miles east of the site Gust east of Lower Sacramento Road.
A search of the California Regional Water Resources Control Board's Geotracker online records
revealed six leaking underground storage tank(LUST)sites within a one-mile radius of the site.Five
of the six LUST sites were listed as closed;the remaining open LUST site,USA Petroleum Service
Station located at 2448 Kettleman Lane, is located approximately 0.72 miles east of the site. This )
open LUST site appears to be down- to equi-gradient from the subject site and according to
documents available on Geotracker, the site appears to be in the closure phase (a Case Closure
Summary Report was prepared for the site by Azure Environmental [AE] in December 2007).
l Additionally, according to the most recent ground water monitoring data collected by AE in 2007,
the impacted ground water appears to be limited to the area of the site.
Based on status, and distance and direction from the subject site,AGE found no indication the above
referenced active LUST site is of environmental concern to the site.
4.3. ON-SITE EXISTING WELL DESCRIPTION
The current domestic water supply well is located at the southeast corner of the existing storm water
retention pond, approximately 125 feet south-southeast from the northwest corner of the site parcel
(Figure 2). The domestic well is approximately 105 feet northwest of the existing septic system and
approximately 185 feet from the proposed septic system.
3
The existing domestic well appears to installed August 1989 to an unspecified depth with
unspecified grout seal under SJCEHD permit(Appendix D).The permit documents the installation
of a 6-inch diameter PVC well casing in a 12-inch diameter borehole. SJCEHD made comments on
the permit as follows: "No permits. Destroy old well at same time".
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
